R' Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapira, of Drohobitcz (1924), grandson of R' Chaim Meir Yechiel Shapira, "the Saraph" of Moglenitz and of R' Avraham Yaakov Friedman, the Sadiger Rebbe. Made aliyah with his entire family in 1921. His matzeiva was intact in 1967, when the arab caretaker of Har Zeisim testified that when attempts were made to remove the headstone and that of CMY's wife and mother, the workers' hands shook so hard that they abandoned the task (from sefer Ner Yisroel).Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08402138169270433488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-17433671304485361742010-05-02T22:39:49.205-04:002010-05-02T22:39:49.205-04:00See my comment under Iyar Yartzeits about R' N...See my comment under Iyar Yartzeits about R' Nesanen Weill (or Veil).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-15204287405342000872010-04-23T16:02:39.727-04:002010-04-23T16:02:39.727-04:00I know of mukubalim that make the yartzeit seuda o...I know of mukubalim that make the yartzeit seuda on 30 Nisan.A Talmidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07236360333220393398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-66624388478873935522010-04-21T23:29:44.735-04:002010-04-21T23:29:44.735-04:00Oh, no! Will he still receive merit from my learning, if it was done a day late? If so, will I receive the allotted s'char for doing such a mitzvah? Do I have to do t'shuvah for using HaShem's Name in vain, or any other aveira that I may have performed while doing it? Please, I need your help, so that I don't make the same mistake again, and if I do, I need to know what to do about it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-9810496549307117692010-04-21T23:23:40.218-04:002010-04-21T23:23:40.218-04:00Yeah, come to think of it, the above-mentioned boo...Yeah, come to think of it, the above-mentioned book gives the date of death of the Kli Yakar as the one that many confuse it with, 7 Adar Sheini. I guess that such a comprehensive guide on so many people can't have it all right 100% of the time. [However, other, non-Jewish sources, which list the secular date of death, give his death as being some time in March. (They list an actual date; I'm just too lazy to go back and look.) If that's true, it would definitely appear that he was niftar in Adar Sheini rather than Iyar, so I don't know....] But where do you get that R' Chaim Vital was niftar on the first day of Rosh Chodesh Iyar?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-79224597128913965022010-04-16T08:36:31.439-04:002010-04-16T08:36:31.439-04:00The Mabit and R' Yaakov Berav I have seen lis...The Mabit and R' Yaakov Berav I have seen listed with both dates. I don't know which is accurate. However, R' Chaim Vital is definately 30 Nissan and not 1 Iyar. The confusion is that it is the first day of Rosh Chodesh Iyar which is of course 30 Nisan. The same mistake is made with the Rebbe Reb Shmelke yartzeit is 1 Iyar but many have listed wrong as 2 Iyar since it is Beis of Rosh Chodesh Iyar.A Talmidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07236360333220393398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-8931373180501245242010-04-15T13:49:34.742-04:002010-04-15T13:49:34.742-04:00Yeah, I also own that book, which gives the yartze...Yeah, I also own that book, which gives the yartzeits of both R' Yaakov Berav and R' Chaim Vital as being a day later than they are listed on this post, i.e. 1 Iyar.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-51129886793296449732010-04-15T13:49:34.741-04:002010-04-15T13:49:34.741-04:00Yeah, I also own that book, which gives the yartze...Yeah, I also own that book, which gives the yartzeits of both R' Yaakov Berav and R' Chaim Vital as being a day later than they are listed on this post, i.e. 1 Iyar.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-62673637380233063082010-04-12T19:25:22.253-04:002010-04-12T19:25:22.253-04:00I read in ArtScroll's The Early Acharonim that...I read in ArtScroll's The Early Acharonim that the Mabit's yartzeit is the 21st of Nisan, and that R' Shabtai Sheftil Horowitz died in the year 1660.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627447079343465477.post-20594432193195144462010-04-12T00:17:04.957-04:002010-04-12T00:17:04.957-04:00According to Lazer Beams, it seems that R' Mos...According to Lazer Beams, it seems that R' Moshe Halberstam was niftar on the 28th of Nisan, based on the fact that he died on the 13th day of the Omer (Y'sod SheBiG'vurah).
