This is where the Cherem of York, forbidding Jews to never sleep in the City of York overnight, started.

He was a talmid of his father-in-law and R' Naftali of Ropshitz. Many great dynasties descend from the Divrei Chaim, most famous among them is Bobov and Klausenberg.
