He lived in communist USSR until 1970, then moved to Eretz Yisroel and then settled in the USA. He lived the last years of his life in Monsey, NY. Buried in the Vizhnitzer Cemetery in Monsey, NY.

23 Tishrei was also the yahrzeit of the previous Hornosteipel Rebbe, Rebbe Shloime Twerski of Denver. My post on him is here.
